1.   Scoop the clams out of the pot and remove and discard the top shells.

2.   Scoop the clams out of the water with your fingers, leaving the grit behind.

3.   Typically, geoducks are caught by divers who use vacuum-like machines to scoop the clams from their beds in shallow water.

4.   Using a slotted spoon, scoop the clams into a bowl to cool, leaving the broth behind.
