1.   That fall, the school fielded a football team.

2.   The coaches hoped other inner-city schools would field teams, but so far St. Benedict plays only suburban prep schools.

3.   The school also fields coed sports teams in basketball and softball that play against teams from other communities, and arranges swimming lessons at the YMCA in Bay Shore.

4.   Brentwood headmaster Curtis Masters said outside the courtroom that the school could not field an interscholastic athletic program without belonging to the association.
