1.   I first sauteed the apples with slices of fresh ginger with butter and sugar.

2.   Saute the apples until they are tender and slightly golden.

3.   Sauteing the apples does several things.

4.   So I decided to saute the apples in butter and sugar before sandwiching them between pastry.
