1.   Among other things, wild salmon carcasses are an important source of nutrients for bears, foxes and other animals.

2.   They come mainly to scavenge on spawned-out salmon carcasses that wash up on gravel bars and banks.

3.   Wreaths of mist lifted from moss-draped cedar trees, revealing stream banks strewn with salmon carcasses, their copper-colored skins freshly punctured by black bears.

4.   When they dumped salmon carcasses on streams running into Willapa Bay, they found higher densities of young fish around the carcasses.
