1. Add butter and cut into flour mixture until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. 2. Add butter, and process until the mixture resembles cornmeal. 3. Drop spoonfuls of the shortening onto the flour mixture, then lightly work it in with your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. 4. Pulse on and off very briefly until flour mixture resembles cornmeal. 5. Pulse just until the mixture is well blended and resembles cornmeal. 6. Using a pastry blender or large fork, cut in shortening until mixture resembles cornmeal. 7. Using a pastry blender or two knives held scissors-fashion, cut in butter until mixture resembles lumpy cornmeal. 8. Using a pastry blender or two knives, cut the cream cheese and butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse cornmeal. 9. With a pastry blender cut in the butter until the mixture resembles cornmeal. 10. With your fingertips, rub the cold butter into the flour mixture until it clumps and resembles cornmeal. |
