1.   Israeli Defense Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer promised to remove the outposts next week.

2.   Peace Now, a veteran anti-settlement group, has been urging the Barak government to remove the outposts.

3.   On Saturday, Interfax quoted Col. Gen. Anatoly Kvashnin as saying federal troops also had removed six outposts in the Shali and Shatoi districts.

4.   The rebels have demanded that all military outposts be removed from the village and that ancestral lands held by big landowners be returned to Higaonon tribesmen.
