1.   And, in fact, he is urging former Gov. Lowell Weicker of Connecticut, a Republican-turned-independent, to run for the Reform nomination.

2.   Buchanan said he had always known he would be working at the complex Reform nomination process with little public notice.

3.   Choate is in daily contact with Ms. Buchanan now as the two strategize about how to nail down the Reform nomination.

4.   Encouraged by Gov. Jesse Ventura of Minnesota, Weicker has spent the past three months considering whether to run for the Reform nomination.

5.   So now Democrats root for the nativist Buchanan to get the Reform nomination just as Republicans root for the liberal Warren Beatty.

6.   To the distress of Republican front-runner George W. Bush, Buchanan is poised to bolt from the GOP and defy Ventura by chasing the Reform presidential nomination.

7.   When U.S. Sen. Bob Smith of New Hamphsire bolted from the Republican Party, Smith toyed briefly with running for the Reform nomination.

8.   Pat Buchanan is also expected to seek the Reform nomination.

9.   Buchanan successfully defeated efforts by a Reform Party faction led by Natural Law Party presidential nominee John Hagelin to deny him the Reform nomination and the federal funds.

10.   Buchanan, who is campaigning for the Reform presidential nomination, said an administration with him in charge of the White House would reciprocate in kind.
