3.   The Royals recalled catcher Mike Sweeney from Triple-A Omaha to replace Dye on the roster.

4.   They also recalled catcher Paul LoDuca, infielder Alex Cora, pitchers Gary Rath and Eric Weaver, and purchased the contract of pitcher Jeff Kubenka.

5.   The Arizona Diamondbacks recalled catcher Rod Barajas from Triple-A Tucson on Monday and optioned catcher Chad Moeller to their Pacific Coast League affiliate.

6.   The Phillies recalled catcher Gary Bennett from Scranton and activated left-hander Mark Holzemer from the disabled list.

7.   The San Diego Padres recalled catcher Ben Davis from Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday.
