2.   After hearing of his mysterious last words, police searched his house and found copies of ransom letters in the study.

3.   Federal criminal investigators linked three attacks to the blackmail attempt, which involved several ransom letters to the national railways.

4.   Government officials however have yet to confirm the authenticity of the reported ransom letter.

5.   News reports say a draft of the ransom letter was found in the Ramsey house along with a pad of note paper matching the ransom letter.

6.   The daily La Nacion said the handwritten ransom letter called for two unidentified people to come by land with a white flag to identify themselves and negotiate the release.
