1.   The army said its preliminary investigation indicated the Palestinian driver rammed the jeep on purpose, and said he was shot because he was brandishing a toy pistol.

2.   The Israeli army said the Palestinian was shot because he was carrying a toy pistol and suggested he purposefully rammed the jeep.
