1.   To keep the inflow of foreign funds from raising local liquidity and boosting inflation, the government also cut regulations on investment in overseas securities investment by Korean citizens.

2.   The BIS urged an early, transparent and politically neutral restructuring of domestic banking systems to raise liquidity in many Asian economies.

3.   The clearinghouse said the system would facilitate short selling, raise liquidity and increase the overall efficiency in sales of securities between intermediaries.

4.   It also said it would expand its outright purchases of long-term government bonds and actively buy commercial paper, in an effort to raise liquidity in the financial system.

5.   Both moves would raise liquidity in the financial system, providing maximum funds for banks as they struggle to write-off a mountain of bad loans, said analysts.

6.   Their return on assets is already insufficient to cover insurance claims and their status as mutual funds precludes them from going to the market to raise liquidity.

7.   Options and futures instruments would raise liquidity through increased speculation and bring the Indian capital market closer to more developed counterparts elsewhere.
