1.   Gov. Pedro J. Rossello has said he would support the project unless opponents could refute Navy assertions that the radar posed no health risk.

2.   The FAA argued there was no evidence that the radars posed a health hazard, and officials stressed the importance of improving wind-shear detection at the airports.

3.   An environmental impact statement prepared for the Navy by a private firm reported in August that the radar posed no health or environmental hazards.

4.   Opponents charge the radar poses a cancer threat.

5.   Pedro Toledo, Puerto Rico Police Superintendent, denied Sunday that the radar posed a risk to humans since it would be installed on an isolated beach.
