1.   Already, radar had helped spot a long-lost city on the Arabian peninsula, buried for centuries below drifting sand.

2.   Pentagon testers were also counting on the X-band radar to help them confirm that the warhead had been destroyed.

3.   Civil Aviation officials said the radar will help in surveillance, traffic separation, optimum use of air space and enhance flight safety.

4.   The surveillance radar will also help the pending commercialisation of airport and navigation services, Dierks said.
