1.   Besides being a tale of lonely hearts and heartless Lotharios, the case raises questions about the use of the federal racketeering act.

2.   G. Robert Blakely, the Notre Dame professor who drafted the racketeering act, said RICO was never intended to apply to political groups.

3.   The other two racketeering acts, he said, were running an illegal gambling operation in Connecticut and understating his income on an application to refinance his mortgage.

4.   Jurors said they dismissed nearly all the alleged racketeering acts against Lee as unproved, mainly because they did not happen in New Jersey.
