1.   Before billboards in the sand start rolling out in Fort Lauderdale, city attorneys have to determine whether they violate an ordinance prohibiting billboards on the beach.

2.   A state law prohibiting highway billboards that advertise nude clubs is unconstitutional because it violates the rights to freedom of speech, the Georgia Supreme Court ruled Monday.

3.   Alaska has measures prohibiting billboards as well as outlawing the trapping of wolves with snares.

4.   Rhode Island and Oregon have measures banning new billboards, while Maine, Alaska, Hawaii and Vermont prohibit all billboards.

5.   The bill would also end sign construction in rural areas by prohibiting new billboards in unzoned areas.

6.   Zoning laws prohibit new billboards and other wall signs in many jurisdictions, although there are some exceptions, as demonstrated by the new Gap signs.
