1. As soon as the yen strengthens, large manufacturers, who have production bases offshore, will once again demand cheaper prices from their smaller suppliers. 2. Foreign car manufacturers are rushing into India to make and sell cars and use the production base here to support exports because of cost advantage. 9. Most companies try to crack the difficult China market by setting up local operations, often using those plants as export production bases as well. 10. Some of the biggest car companies have set up production bases in India, either through joint ventures or wholly owned units, over the last three years. |
