1.   After passengers had left the jet, fire trucks from the Logan emergency team poured foam onto the engine to extinguish the fire.

2.   Authorities at El Prat airport poured foam onto a runway to facilitate the landing of the jet which was arriving on a scheduled flight from Dublin, Ireland.

3.   Firefighters poured foam onto the inmates to prevent them from setting themselves ablaze or using makeshift flame-throwers.

4.   An hour after the crash MBC television showed flames roaring through what remained the fuselage as firemen tried in vain to pour foam on it.
