1.   Often the squares are placed in a central position and enclose a figured medallion.

2.   Place the square of cheesecloth on a flat work surface and place all ingredients in the center.

3.   Place a square of ice cream on a Parmesan cookie, top with a spoonful of marmalade, and top with another Parmesan cookie.

4.   Place the squares on a baking sheet and brush the tops with the egg beaten with the water.

5.   Place the squares on ungreased baking sheets.

6.   To serve, cut salad into squares, place each square on lettuce leaf and top with dollops of mayonnaise.
