1.   A few Decades ago, the average cruise ship passenger was elderly, affluent, and retired.

2.   Airline staff must be courteous at all times, even when passengers are not.

3.   But the passengers are only a tiny fraction of the population, basically its middle class.

4.   In addition, there was one passenger on board, a ground service engineer who was to supervise ground handling at transit stops.

5.   Many passengers were unable to reach the lifeboats in time.

6.   No wonder our passengers are often reluctant to mix business with pleasure.

7.   On most trains the wheelchair passengers will be cared for by the ticket collector.
