1.   The values of amylase and lipase activity are significantly elevated in acute pancreatitis and obstruction of the pancreatic duct.

2.   Briefly, one polyethylene cannula was inserted into the common bile pancreatic duct to serve as the pancreatic fistula.

3.   Endoprosthesis placement was performed in the conventional manner using a plastic prosthesis for the bile and pancreatic ducts.

4.   All had undergone injection of the pancreatic duct, three had repeat injections, and two had overfilling resulting in acinar opacification.

5.   Sampling directly from the pancreatic duct provides a more proximate sample for cytological diagnosis and may improve the diagnostic sensitivity.

6.   Injections should be placed into the apex of the sphincterotomy, avoiding the area around the pancreatic duct.

7.   They can get into the lungs, pancreatic duct and appendix, or even crawl out the throat and be unconsciously reswallowed.
