1.   Due to rising costs and delays in the delivery of equipment, losses are already foreseeable on the new tunnel project.

2.   The reasons for the new tunnel were that the old one was a terrible bottleneck, and that it was unsafe.

3.   Despite the new tunnel, there are still a few people who rashly attempt to cross the Pass on foot.

4.   They would be at risk from the vastly increased number of cars and heavy lorries expected to use the new tunnel.

9.   It has already opened a new tunnel, to Logan Airport, and will ultimately link that new tunnel to the Massachusetts Turnpike.
