2.   But it is the new circuses that have seized the imagination of Paris artists and intellectuals.

3.   It just happens that this new circus is not that new.

4.   Put differently, in order to survive, new circus companies have to be good.

5.   The new circus has not supplanted the traditional circus in France.

6.   But they see that the new pro circus could act as a lever to insure that their earnings from the traditional game are lucrative.
