1.   Customers like the new digital products, particularly Document Centre, because the machines can be upgraded to function as network printers, fax machines and scanners.

2.   Hewlett-Packard, based in Palo Alto, California, said it will introduce a network scanner and network printer that it hopes office workers will prefer to copiers.

3.   In late September, Stamford, Connecticut-based Xerox introduced two mid-priced network printers, aiming at a market where H-P has dominated.

4.   Such network printers could be used, for example, to rapidly make copies of a large document transmitted from one office to another over a corporate intranet.
