1.   It was in response to a column in which I mentioned certain kinds of edge-trying jigs for table saws would leave nail holes in the workpiece.

2.   The gilded wooden quatrefoil moldings were put back with the guidance of old photographs and nail holes.

3.   The old nails can then be either pulled out or driven all the way in, after which both nail holes can be covered with joint cement.

4.   You will find the studs, then you can spend your time filling all those nail holes.
