1.   Thousands of slaves, naked and in pain, were breaking rocks and moving the rubble in long columns towards the burning embers of a huge pyre.

2.   And Patel farmers volunteered their tractors to move the rubble from village lanes, which are now clearer than those of Bhuj and Anjar.

3.   As night deepened, officials were able to bring in cranes and heavy shovels to begin moving rubble in hopes of finding survivors.

4.   Some spaces are so tight that heavy equipment cannot be brought in to move rubble.
