8.   Light to moderate rains will douse southern New England as steady ocean winds precede a sluggish low along the Middle Atlantic Seaboard.

9.   Meanwhile, moderate rains will douse parts of Minnesota and the eastern Dakotas as a jet stream disturbance siphons moisture gathering over the upper Middle West.

10.   Moderate rain fell sporadically Sunday, but there was otherwise no hint of a hurricane.
