1.   Fernandez was charged last year with criminal defamation after claiming that illegal immigrants were being mistreated at detention centers.

2.   Mohd Yusof said police or Armed Forces personnel had not mistreated immigrants when refusing them entry into Malaysian waters, or when they were caught entering the country illegally.
