1.   In contrast with its strict supervision of blood banks or mammography centers, the FDA is not required to visit food plants regularly.

2.   The amount of mammography centers across the country have declined since last year.

3.   In other states, mammography centers have scaled back, and last year New York University Medical Center shut one of its two mammography services for financial reasons.

4.   Mammography centers also have trouble providing timely mammograms because of a shortage of trained radiologists and technicians, many of whom have malpractice concerns, New Jersey doctors say.
