1.   It was middle evening, the streetlights on, but the sun still making long shadows.

2.   The caller -- or the therapist, for that matter -- could be bored, making hand shadows or doing paperwork on the other end of the line.

3.   Though often life-size, the shadows were made with cutout silhouettes only a few inches high.

4.   We made flashlight shadows on the ceiling.
