2.   Analysts have questioned whether the cozy relationships between lender and board member are too close, leading to lax credit decisions.

3.   For over two years the Fed all but ignored the explosion in share prices and lax credit conditions.

4.   Such lax credit has allowed the chaebol to build recklessly huge factories, and to diversify into businesses in which they have no expertise.

5.   But this will require a balancing act that involves improving the lax credit approval system which led to excess lending to the property sector in the first place.
