1.   Another way to get a semitransprent stain look is to thin down a white solid color stain or interior latex wall paint, and apply one coat of that.

2.   Apply a coat of latex enamel undercoater, and finish with two coats of an eggshell finish latex wall paint.

3.   Apply one coat of a latex enamel undercoater and finish with one or two coats of an eggshell or flat finish latex wall paint.

4.   Apply one coat of enamel undercoater and finish off with a latex wall paint.

5.   A way around that is to use a flat, not an eggshell, finish latex wall paint, which is more likely to even out the finish.

6.   A. If the dry wall is not painted, paint with a latex enamel undercoater and apply a second coat of the undercoater or a latex wall paint.

7.   A. Two coats of flat latex wall paint will do nicely, and no priming is needed.

8.   But to get to the question, apply two thin coats of an eggshell finish latex wall paint.

9.   Finish with two coats of an eggshell-finish latex wall paint.

10.   For plaster and plasterboard walls, two coats of an eggshell latex wall paint work nicely.
