1.   I do not think the brass has been lacquered.

2.   However, Wicker warns not to let the plastic touch the brass, especially if the brass is lacquered.

3.   If the brass is lacquered, you have to remove it before polishing.

4.   They are great, but the brass is lacquered and in terrible shape.
