1.   But I do think that we are becoming more involved in the Livesey affair than our legitimate interest justifies.

2.   Although a State might somehow demonstrate that its enforcement interests justify a more limited identification requirement, Ohio has not met that burden here.

3.   But no compelling American security interests could have justified sending U.S. ground troops or overriding the preference of the European Union not to resist the Serbian advance.

4.   But that interest does not justify an unnecessarily broad suppression of speech addressed to adults.

5.   The application of strict scrutiny, in turn, determines whether a compelling governmental interest justifies the infliction of that injury.
