1. Treatment with cyclosporin A alone significantly reduced insulin release. 2. Treatment with indomethacin had no significant influence on insulin release. 3. Whether the noxious effect of cyclosporin A on amylase secretion is the consequence of reduced insulin release, is not known. 4. Administration of indomethacin caused no decrease in the glucose induced insulin release in our preparation confirming previous studies. 5. Thus, treatment with cyclooyxgenase inhibitors has been reported to augment or to suppress glucose induced insulin release. |
