1.   Can I install shingles over it?

2.   It cannot be helped, unless you install white cedar shingles and let them weather to that Cape Cod silver.

3.   Once you reach the maximum number of layers, you must remove one or all of the old layers before installing new shingles.

4.   The contractor suggested installing predipped shingles, then applying two coats of a solid body stain.

5.   The only other thing I suggest is to install organic shingles, not fiberglass.

6.   These strips are best installed when new roof shingles are installed.

7.   This will provide automatic line-up of the shingles, which will be perfect, if the original shingles were installed properly.

8.   When it does happen it is usually due to the fact that lightweight or poor quality shingles were installed, or that the installation was not properly done.
