1.   Because it has more than three times the volume of the aluminum module, the inflatable module as envisioned by NASA would have four different levels.

2.   A lot of the hardware that would have gone inside the aluminum habitation module, such as air revitalization equipment, would also be used in the inflatable module.

3.   If NASA decides to use the inflatable module instead, it would have to be ready by that same date.

4.   NASA issued a stop-work order a couple years ago when the idea of an inflatable module began to take root.

5.   The inflatable module was then called TransHab, a reference to a plan to use it as a design prototype for a manned Mars mission.

6.   For now, the company is trying to develop inflatable modules that could be appended to the space station and leased to NASA to create additional room for researchers.
