1.   Daubach drove in his fifth and sixth runs with an infield roller in the eighth that went for a double.

2.   Jim Edmonds drove in two with a bases-loaded single, and Tim Salmon beat out an infield roller to drive in a third run.

3.   The Cubs righty easily retired Earl Averill and Bill Dickey on infield rollers, but Goslin and Jimmie Foxx delivered back-to-back pinch-hit singles to keep the inning going.

4.   The Sox had a better opportunity in the second, when Brian Daubach legged out on infield roller to second for a single.
