1.   Immunological abnormalities are generally accepted to be involved in the pathogenesis of ulcerative colitis.

2.   Of the four, one is dead of simian AIDS, one has early-stage disease and two have developed immunological abnormalities.

3.   The remaining three monkeys are ill or have immunological abnormalities related to simian AIDS.
