1. Apart from the features just mentioned, the important characteristic of a hall church is that the vaults of nave, choir and aisles are of the same height. 2. The hall church is only rarely found outside the realms of Germanic influence. 3. Two other excellent hall churches are S. Elisabeth, Marburg and S. George, Dinkelsbhl. 4. The faade and steeple are rebuilt in Baroque style, but the interior is a classic hall church. 5. Inside, the hall church is very fine and in good condition. 6. It is a hall church, simple and a good stone example. 7. It is a five-aisled hall church, entirely of brick and with a single, very tall western tower and spire. 8. Originally built in Romanesque style, a Gothic choir and aisles were added in the fourteenth century, making it into a hall church. |
