1.   During the summer, the state parks offer special programs including nature crafts, snake shows, campfire sing-alongs, guided hikes and birding.

2.   Each Tuesday, for example, there is a cruise around Hamilton Harbor with guided hikes on islands and a treasure hunt on one.

3.   Guided hikes focus on wildflowers or animal tracking.

4.   Guided hikes, lectures and workshops focusing on natural history.

5.   There also have been requests for more guided hikes, particularly in the cases of women traveling alone, Arthur said.
