1. Six subjects did not consent to a glucose tolerance test and tolerance was determined from fasting plasma glucose and insulin concentrations. 2. The glucose tolerance test is used to observe the response of the patient to a glucose load or challenge. 3. The reproducibility, sensitivity, and specificity of the continuous infusion glucose tolerance test have been reported. 4. The subjects had a continuous infusion glucose tolerance test. 5. A month later, a more definitive indicator of diabetes -- a glucose tolerance test -- was done, and the results were normal. 6. They were given glucose tolerance tests, weighed and measured, and had their blood drawn, eyes and kidneys checked and X-rays taken. 7. These include above-normal cholesterol levels, and higher readings on glucose tests commonly used to check for diabetes. |
