1.   Books are a popular gift, and many gift givers personalize a book by writing an inscription or dedication inside the cover.

2.   But even deep-pocketed gift givers have some tough decisions to make about format.

4.   For one thing, recipients may not know what they want any more than a gift giver.

5.   Generous gift givers have been given a break this holiday season.

6.   In addition, they said the conviction of a gift giver does not necessarily implicate a gift taker, because their motives may have been different.

7.   Instead, corporate gift givers should consider giving festive food such as cookie bouquets, honey-baked ham or green plants -- all of which can be delivered.

8.   Leave them both with the subversive gift giver for a long time, for example, several hours up to an entire day.

9.   Like most gift givers, I usually like to give something I would also be happy to receive.
