1.   California Gov. Pete Wilson and Nevada gaming lobbyists were vilified by American Indians in Washington Tuesday for trying to take away their ability to operate gaming facilities.

2.   Oneida, Sioux and another band of Chippewas, which operated their own gaming facilities nearby, opposed the application.

3.   Partners in that group, operating under the name Huron Gaming L.P., would lend the tribe money to develop the cemetery gaming facility.

4.   Several Indian tribes have gaming facilities, mostly in northern Michigan, and Casino Windsor in Windsor, Ontario, is a few miles south of Detroit.

5.   The project would involve setting up gaming facilities in a few massive, well-regulated complexes including hotels, convention centers and world class theme parks.

6.   He urged the state government to halt introduction of further gaming facilities until the current situation was fully understood.
