Locally heavy snow will fall from the central Sierra to the Wasatch of Utah as a potent Pacific front arrives. 4. Spotty sprinkles and some showers will develop late Friday or at night as the front arrives. 5. The Arctic front will arrive at the Northeast Coast later Thursday night. 6. The heat will abate by midweek as a cool front arrives from the western part of the state. 7. Windswept rain will lash the Northwest coast as a strong front arrives. 8.
