1.   Exhibits illustrate various North American habitats, including deep woods, freshwater streams and open ocean, with a particular emphasis on the Ozarks.

2.   Its woods were filled with game, its marshes were teeming with waterfowl and its ponds, lakes and freshwater streams were glutted with brook trout.

3.   Records indicate birds nested up and down the coast, feasting on saltwater fish, carrion and steelhead and salmon that spawned in freshwater streams.

4.   Since leaving the ocean and returning to the freshwater streams of their origin to spawn and die, they have eaten nothing.

5.   The platypus lives in remote freshwater streams.
