1.   Among the Democrats looking at it are U.S. Rep. Ken Bentsen of Houston, former Senate candidates Richard Fisher and Victor Morales.

2.   Among the most vociferous critics is Jesse Jackson, a former presidential candidate, who, like Dodd, will address the convention that opens here on Monday.

3.   Among his supporters was former presidential candidate Bob Dole.

4.   Among those attending was the avowed Marxist Lenora Fulani, herself a former presidential candidate, who last year endorsed Buchanan, only to break with him last month.

5.   Among those in whom the cancer has been diagnosed are New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani and former Republican presidential candidate Bob Dole of Kansas.

6.   Among them was Alf Landon, the former Republican candidate for president of the United States.

7.   And his endorsement Friday by Ross Perot, the former presidential candidate who has a strong appeal with Republican voters, is likely to help Lautenberg.

8.   And just this week, Steve Forbes, the publisher and former Republican presidential candidate, produced a radio commercial attacking the White House on the issue.

9.   Another former GOP candidate, conservative firebrand Pat Buchanan, is expected to announce Monday that he will seek the Reform Party nomination.

10.   As negotiations continued, real estate investor and former mayoral candidate Clint Reilly jumped into the fray.
