1.   Iraq accused the United States on Saturday of trying to pressure U.N. members into agreeing that Baghdad violated sanctions by flying pilgrims to Islamic holy places in Saudi Arabia.

2.   Libya went into a protest mode days before Gadhafi was expected to keep a vow to defy a U.N. air travel ban by flying pilgrims to Mecca.

3.   Libya, which is under similar air sanctions, has also violated the sanctions by flying pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.

4.   The UN Security Council late Thursday accused Libya of violating a UN air embargo by flying Moslem pilgrims to Saudi Arabia, and warned Tripoli against attempting further violations.

5.   This was the third consecutive year that Libya broke the embargo by flying pilgrims to Saudi Arabia via Libyan Arab Airways.

6.   Libya, another country facing a UN air embargo, has also violated the UN ban on flights by flying pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
