Possibly, there is a flush valve in your toilet allowing a small amount of water to drain from the tank. 4. The flush valve is the hole at the bottom of the tank at the back of the toilet. 5. Tripping the handle on the tank opens the flush valve, either a flapper valve or a tank ball, at the bottom of the tank. 6. When the tank is empty the flush valve closes and a supply valve, a ballcock, allows fresh water to refill the tank. 7.
