1.   All heather varieties bloom from summer through early autumn, and the flowering spikes make good fresh or dried flowers.

2.   Cassia shrubs are extremely free-flowering and therefore all old flowering spikes should be trimmed off.

3.   Flowering spikes will emerge on the twigs just before the new leaves.

4.   This is a comparatively small shrub with prostrate stems but with upright flowering spikes of rose-scarlet or orangy-pink blooms.
