1.   Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

2.   Stricter enforcement of the law where brothels are closed, movable property confiscated, high fines imposed and ill-gotten gains forfeited should be implemented.

3.   The Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Tribune, a twice-weekly black newspaper, said they would appeal the contempt fines imposed on their reporters.

4.   Cigarettes are heavily taxed and hefty fines imposed on violators.
